New course: Outcomes Based Funding
Our new course is
There is a lot of hype around new funding models for the not-for-profit sector, and it is creating a fundamental shift in the way programs are designed. To help you navigate this shift we’ve developed an online course exploring the brave new world of OUTCOMES BASED FUNDING.
If you work in the not-for-profit sector it’s likely you’ve heard the latest buzz words, Social Return on Investment, Social Impact Investing or Social Impact Bonds. These NFP financing models have emerged from the landscape of outcomes-based funding, influenced by the emergence of social finance and impact investing. This course will walk you through the who, what and how of these new financing models and equip you with the skills you need to determine what funding model is right for your program.
The course will help you:
- understand the drivers and sectoral trends leading to this model of funding;
- unpack the social impact bond structure, and how it compares to traditional models of program funding; and,
- explore some of the academic literature and arguments both in support of and also critiquing these models of funding, including a discussion of some of the ethical considerations associated with payment by outcomes models.
The course is self paced and you can return to it whenever you please. All content takes 3-5 hours to complete. To view all our free courses head to our LEARN page.
